Bhubaneswar, Jan 6: Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra on Monday said there will be no shortage of potatoes in Odisha in the coming days as the state government is focusing on potato cultivation.
Patra said he held talks with Agriculture Minister KV Singh Deo in this regard yesterday.
"The Agriculture Minister said more than 6 lakh metric tonnes of potatoes will be cultivated this year, while 3 lakh metric tonnes is produced every year," said Patra.

✨The Food Supplies Minister stated that Odisha requires 14 lakh metric tonnes of potatoes annually.
"To meet the requirement, Odisha imports 11 lakh metric tonnes from other states. Henceforth, Odisha will produce 6 lakh metric tonnes. There will be no shortage of potato and any other foodgrains in the coming days," he said.
