Kandhamal, Feb 17: In a heartwrenching incident, a pregnant woman died due to a lack of road connectivity in Garadamaha village under Guguramaha panchayat of Kotagarh block here in Kandhamal district this morning.

The deceased woman has been identified as Kanti Sukamajhi.

According to reports, Kanti complained of labour pain, for which her family members called the ambulance.

However, the ambulance couldn't reach the location due to the lack of an all-weather road.

At last, Kanti tried to walk on her own and reached Judabali Primary Health Centre, but the doctors in Judabali referred Kanti to Baliguda Sub-divisional Hospital.

Unfortunately, Kanti was unable to bear the labour pain, and lost her life midway.
