Senior BJP leader and Sundargarh MP, Jual Oram on Monday said there is no confusion over pre-poll alliance of his party in the State for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls and State Assembly elections.

Bhubaneswar, Mar 18: Amid speculation surrounding a possible pre-poll alliance between Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) in Odisha, senior BJP leader and Sundargarh MP, Jual Oram on Monday said there is no confusion over pre-poll alliance of his party in the State for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls and State Assembly elections.

Oram, who was also a former Union Minister, said this before leaving for New Delhi this morning.

The BJP leader also said that the party's State Election Committee has already sent the list of probable candidates for the State Assembly elections and the Lok Sabha polls and the Central Election Committee of the party will take the final call on the list.

Oram also said that the names of candidates for the Lok Sabha seats in Odisha will be announced by the party’s central election committee in the next phase.

Earlier in the day,  the state president of BJP Manmohan Samal left for New Delhi for discussions with the central leadership regarding the list of potential candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections.

Odisha will vote in the Lok Sabha elections and Assembly polls, which are being held simultaneously, in four phases. The polling will be held on May 13, 20, 25 and June 1.

The votes will be counted with the rest of the country on June 4.
