NIT Rourkela’s distinction in the SDGs category is particularly noteworthy, as it is the only NIT and the sole institution from Odisha to be placed in the national top 10. Its performance in Architecture and Planning also makes it the highest-ranked institute in the state.

The NIRF rankings, released by the Ministry of Education, assess institutions based on parameters such as Teaching, Learning & Resources, Research and Professional Practice, Graduation Outcomes, Outreach & Inclusivity, and Perception. NIT Rourkela’s consistent rise across these metrics underscores its growing impact on national education and innovation.

With its sights set on further excellence, NIT Rourkela aims to build on this momentum to enhance its contributions to sustainable development, technical leadership, and global academic partnerships.
