Bhubaneswar, Jan 20: After a prolonged spell of intense cold wave conditions, Odisha has witnessed a noticeable rise in night temperatures.
According to the Meteorological Department, temperatures recorded at 5:30 AM today ranged between 13°C and 17°C across major towns, with Jharsuguda and Keonjhar at 13.4°C, Bhubaneswar at 14.4°C, and coastal towns like Puri and Gopalpur registering 17.4°C and 16.8°C respectively.
Officials confirmed that no major weather systems are currently active in the state, and dry conditions are expected to prevail for the next seven days. While no cold wave warning has been issued, the department has forecast light to moderate fog in several districts.
A fog alert has been sounded for 15 districts including Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Sundargarh, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati over the next 24 hours.

Meanwhile, Bhubaneswar witnessed a significant rise in daytime temperature, with the mercury touching 30°C yesterday — the first time this year since the Sun’s Uttarayan movement began.
