Bhubaneswar, Feb 24: Trouble seems to have mounted for KIIT founder Achyuta Samanta after the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), Nepal wrote a letter to the National Human Rights Commission of India, seeking justice and protection for Nepali students at the KIIT in Bhubaneswar.


The Human Rights Commission, Nepal has requested NHRC, India to conduct an inquiry and provide justice to the deceased Nepali girl and protection to students who were reportedly tortured by institute authorities. The Human Rights Commission of Nepal has also urged the NHRC, India to ensure a conducive atmosphere for Nepali students to pursue education at the KIIT.


In the letter, the Human Rights Commission, Nepal demanded action against the university officials and individuals involved in the incident. After the letter of the Human Rights Commission of Nepal came to the fore, all political parties condemned the KIIT incident and demanded strict action against the errant.

Earlier, Chief Minister Mohan Majhi spoke to his Nepalese counterpart over the phone and assured him of strict action against the culprits. Two officials of the Nepal Embassy also met the Chief Minister at Lok Seva Bhawan in this regard.
