NHRC Begins Two-Day Public Hearing in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, Jul 21: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) commenced a two-day public hearing session in Bhubaneswar, addressing a wide range of complaints related to human rights violations across Odisha.

 

The hearings are being conducted by two separate benches headed by NHRC Chairperson Justice V. Ramasubramanian, accompanied by Commission Members Justice Bidyut Ranjan Sarangi, Vijaya Bharathi Sayani, and Priyank Kanoongo.

 

On the first day, the Commission is scheduled to hear 121 cases, involving allegations brought forth by individuals from diverse regions of the state. Another 23 cases will be heard on the second day on Tuesday. The cases span issues such as police inaction, custodial abuse, delayed government benefits, and administrative negligence.
