India clinched their ninth Asia Cup title by defeating Pakistan by five wickets in Dubai. The victory extended India’s perfect record against Pakistan in this tournament, with earlier victories on September 14 and 21 in group and Super Four stages.


PM Modi Hails Victory

Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated India’s Asia Cup win over Pakistan, likening it to Operation Sindoor. In a social media post, he wrote, “Operation Sindoor on the game field. Outcome is the same – India wins!”


Trophy Row Protest

BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia condemned the Asia Cup 2025 post-match incident where PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi allegedly took the winners’ trophy prematurely. Calling it unfortunate, Saikia confirmed a formal protest will be raised at the ICC meet in November.

 

Odisha Cabinet Nod

The Odisha Cabinet approved four major proposals, including labour reforms for inclusive workspaces, Godavarish Model Schools to uplift rural education, and a Rs226 crore facelift for Ghatagaon Tarini Temple to preserve cultural heritage.

 

Puja Security Tightened

As many as 61 police platoons and 20 Home Guard platoons have been deployed across Cuttack and Bhubaneswar for Durga Puja celebrations. Police Commissioner S. Devdatta Singh confirmed the measures to ensure smooth and safe festivities in both cities.
