Jal Jeevan Mission Extended
The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the extension of the Jal Jeevan Mission until December 2028. Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said the mission will shift focus from infrastructure creation to service delivery under the Ministry of Jal Shakti.
Gas Supply Regulated
The Centre has invoked the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 to regulate natural gas supply amid the West Asia crisis. Priority sectors include domestic piped supply, CNG transport, LPG production, and pipeline operations, ensuring 100 percent of past six-month average consumption subject to operational availability.
