Heavy Rain Alert

Burn Victim Surgery

BMC Official Arrested
Odisha Vigilance department today arrested Jagannath Pattnaik, Executive Engineer of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation, on charges of possessing assets disproportionate to his known source of income. The anti-corruption wing had launched simultaneous raids at four locations linked to the official.
Drug-Free Campus Drive
The Odisha Higher Education Department has directed the heads of all government and non-government aided colleges to conduct awareness programmes on the abuse of drugs among the youth, with an aim to make their campuses drug-free.
The Department also referred to the MANAS Portal where the students can lodge complaints in the National Helpline No. 1933 regarding use of drugs in campuses.
Chhattisgarh Tourists Rescued
At least 17 tourists from neighbouring Chhattisgarh, who reportedly got stranded on the dense Gandhamardan hills on Wednesday evening, were rescued today. The group was en route from Nrusinghanath to Harishankar when they are believed to have lost their way.

The Enforcement Directorate today carried out multiple raids at over 35 premises, 50 companies and more than 25 people linked to Anil Ambani's Reliance Group, in connection with a money laundering probe related to the Rs 3,000 crore Yes Bank loan fraud case.
The ED started probing the offence of money laundering by RAAGA Companies under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
Russian Plane Crashes
A Russian An-24 aircraft carrying 49 people, including five children and six crew members, crashed in the mountainous Amur region, killing all on board.
The ill-fated flight, operated by the Siberia-based Angara Airlines, had departed from Blagoveshchensk and was en route to Tynda.
