Rajaji Utsav

President Droupadi Murmu unveiled the bust of Chakravarti Rajagopalachari at Rashtrapati Bhavan during Rajaji Utsav. She urged citizens to draw inspiration from the first Indian Governor General’s life and legacy, emphasizing the spirit of “Nation First” as a guiding principle for future generations.

Operation Gallant Perseverance

The Army’s White Knight Corps announced the elimination of seven terrorists in Kishtwar district. The prolonged 326-day high-altitude joint operation, termed “Gallant Perseverance,” was conducted in harsh terrain and weather, showcasing relentless efforts and determination of security forces in Jammu and Kashmir.

Navy Commissions Anjadip

The Indian Navy will commission INS Anjadip, the third vessel of the Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft project, on February 27 at Chennai Port. Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, Chief of Naval Staff, will preside over the ceremony, enhancing India’s anti-submarine warfare capabilities.

NHRC Suo Motu

The National Human Rights Commission has taken suo motu cognisance of reports that six workers from Odisha’s Kendrapara district were held captive in Thailand. The workers allegedly faced six months without salary or proper food, revealed through a video message recorded on February 17.

Odisha Rain Alert

The IMD Bhubaneswar has forecast widespread rainfall in Odisha over the next two days. A yellow alert has been issued for 18 districts on Tuesday and 15 districts on Wednesday, warning of thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds reaching speeds of 30–40 km/h.

Food Adulteration Data

Odisha Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling revealed alarming adulteration in food items, including popular health drink Horlicks. Samples seized from Khordha, Boudh, Dhenkanal, Jagatsinghpur, and Mayurbhanj confirmed contamination. The minister presented the data in the Assembly, raising concerns about consumer safety and food quality standards.

Odisha Crime Data

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi informed the Assembly that 33,021 cases of crimes against women were registered in 2025. These included 2,994 rape cases, 7,382 molestation cases, and thousands of incidents of harassment, abduction, dowry torture, and disrobing, reflecting serious concerns over women’s safety.

Bangladeshi Deportation

The Odisha government has deported 73 of 77 Bangladeshi infiltrators residing illegally in various districts.
