The nation observed Vijay Diwas today, marking India’s decisive victory in the 1971 war against Pakistan that led to the creation of Bangladesh. President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other leaders paid tribute to the soldiers whose courage and sacrifice remain a source of enduring national pride.


Tribute to 1971 War Heroes
President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated Param Vir Dirgha at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Vijay Diwas, showcasing portraits of all 21 Param Vir Chakra awardees. The gallery honours national heroes and aims to inspire visitors with their courage, sacrifice, and indomitable spirit.

 

India-Jordan Business Forum

India and Jordan signed multiple MoUs across key sectors. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and King Abdullah II of Jordan addressed the India-Jordan business forum in Amman, highlighting plans to expand cooperation in fertilizers, textiles, renewable energy, IT, and healthcare, with strong participation from leading business delegations of both nations.


Education Bill Sent to JPC

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan informed the Lok Sabha that the Viksit Bharat Shiksha Adhishthan Bill, 2025 was referred to the Joint Parliamentary Committee. The Bill seeks to strengthen institutional autonomy, accreditation, and quality, while promoting excellence in teaching, research, innovation, and building a future-ready higher education framework.

New Bill to Replace MGNREGA

The Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Bill 2025 was introduced in Lok Sabha, replacing MGNREGA, to ensure 125 days of wage employment per rural household under a modern framework aligned with Viksit Bharat 2047.


Sabka Bima Sabki Raksha Bill

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today introduced the Sabka Bima Sabki Raksha (Amendment of Insurance Laws) Bill, 2025 in the Lok Sabha. The Bill amends the Insurance Act 1938, the Life Insurance Corporation Act, 1956 and the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority Act, 1999.


Goa Nightclub Owners Detained
