BharatNetra’ Initiative Launched
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi launched ‘BharatNetra initiative’, an Integrated Global Financial Technology Capability Hub, in Bhubaneswar. The hub, launched in collaboration with the Global Finance & Technology Network (GFTN), the National University of Singapore (NUS), and the Asian Institute of Digital Finance (NUS-AIDF), will train over 7,000 students across Odisha’s 30 districts.

Cloudburst Devastates
One person was killed, and one other went missing after a cloudburst struck a village in Tharali tehsil of Uttarakhand's Chamoli district. Large amounts of debris swept through the area, destroying several houses, including the official residence of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate.
Eight Killed In Bihar
Eight people were killed and five others seriously injured after a truck collided with an auto-rickshaw in Bihar's Patna district. The incident occurred when a speeding truck hit an auto-rickshaw carrying devotees from Malama village in Nalanda district to Fatuha for bathing in the Ganga River.
Hirakud Dam Gates Reopened
Hirakud dam authorities reopened four sluice gates to manage the surge in water level in the reservoir. Three gates on the left side and one on the right side of the dam have been opened.

Marijuana Seized
The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) seized marijuana worth approximately Rs4 crore from the Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar. The contraband was being smuggled by a couple — a man and a woman — who had arrived from Bangkok.
Show-Cause Notices To Schools
56 schools across three blocks in Boudh district have been issued show-cause notices for failing to provide midday meals to students on Independence Day. All schools have been instructed to submit a written explanation within seven days.
