The Nation celebrates its 79th Independence Day today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the Independence Day celebrations from the iconic Red Fort in Delhi and hoisted the National Flag. He said, this Independence Day is festival of hope and aspirations. He said, this occasion is about the resolve of 140 crore Indians and the pride of country’s shared achievements.

Mission Sudarshan Chakra
Prime Minister Modi said that India will launch Mission Sudarshan Chakra to create powerful weapon system to thwart any attempt by enemies. He said, in the next ten years, by 2035, this national security shield will be expanded, strengthen and modernize.

Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today announced the roll out of Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana with an outlay of around one lakh crore rupees for the youth of the country.

CM Majhi Hoists Tricolour
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi hoisted the national flag at Mahatma Gandhi Marg to mark the 79th Independence Day. Addressing the Independence Day function , CM Majhi highlighted his government’s achievements and roadmap for the state’s development, focusing on education, healthcare, and infrastructure.

Kishtwar tragedy
56 people, including two CISF personnel, have been confirmed dead after a massive cloudburst struck Chashoti village near the Machail Mata Shrine in Kishtwar district. Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to J&K Lt Governor and Chief Minister and assured of all possible help to sufferers of the tragedy.

FASTag Based Annual Toll Pass
The government introduced FASTag-based annual toll pass for private vehicles on the occasion of the 79th Independence Day. The annual pass is priced at Rs 3,000. Cars, jeeps, and vans can use this facility at toll plazas run by the National Highways Authority of India and the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.

Renowned sand artist and Padma Shri awardee Sudarsan Pattnaik celebrated 79th Independence Day with a marvellous sand sculpture at Puri Beach, unveiling a majestic sand sculpture commemorating Operation Sindoor.

Professors Suspended
The authorities of Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology in Burla suspended two faculty members following serious allegations of misconduct involving a student and a colleague. The suspended individuals include- Professor Debabrata Dhupal and Associate Professor Dr. Mahendra Kumar Jena.

Merchandise Exports Boom
India’s merchandise exports showed a strong performance in July, registering an increase of around 7.3 per cent to 37.24 billion dollars on an annual basis. Major drivers of goods exports growth were engineering goods, gems and jewellery, electronics, pharmaceuticals and organic and inorganic chemicals.
