India pulled off thrilling 6-run win in the final Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy against England at the Oval in London to level the five-match series 2-2. England needed 35 runs with four wickets in hand in their second innings on Day 5, however the Hosts were all out for 367.

Shibu Soren Passes Away

Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) founder and former Jharkhand Chief Minister Shibu Soren passed away at the age of 81 in New Delhi. Soren had been suffering from a kidney ailment and had suffered a stroke a month and a half ago.

President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and other dignitaries have expressed grief over the demise of Shibu Soren. 

Both Houses Adjourned

Both the Houses of the Parliament have been adjourned for the day. The Rajya Sabha was adjourned as mark of respect after paying tributes to Senior Jharkhand Mukti Morcha leader and sitting MP Shibu Soren who passed away in New Delhi this morning, while the proceedings of the Lok Sabha marred following opposition protest over Special Intensive Revision exercise conducted in Bihar. 

SC slams RaGa

The Supreme Court expressed displeasure with Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi over his alleged derogatory comments about the Indian Army in the context of the 2020 Galwan Valley clash with China. The apex court being the Leader of the Opposition, he should raise such concerns in Parliament, not on social media.

Two Students Arrested

Two students have been arrested in Odisha's Balasore district for allegedly abetting the suicide of a 20-year-old student from FM Autonomous College, who died by self-immolation last month.

Rain Alert

The monsoon rains continue intermittently across most parts of Odisha today. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for several districts in the State, warning of continued rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds till August 8.
