Umerkote, May 15: A heartbreaking discovery has shaken the residents of Sanabharandi near Umerkote block in Nabarangpur district after the body of an infant was found floating in a pond.

✨According to reports, the matter came to fore in the morning after some locals, who had come to the pond, noticed the body of the newborn floating in the water.
On being informed, Umerkote police reached the spot and retrieved the body. The body was seized and sent to Umerkote sub-divisional health center for post-mortem examination.
The tragic discovery has sparked widespread discussions among the locals, who are questioning how and why the newborn’s body ended up in the pond. Speculation is rising over whether the baby was abandoned in the water after birth or deliberately drowned.
