Jagatsinghpur, Nov 11: In what turned out to be a deadly purchase, a woman died and her daughter is injured, after a cow came in front of their new scooter on Friday evening. The accident occured near Machagaon bus stand in Jagatsingpur district. 

The deceased, Pramila Guru and her daughter were residents of Tarasahi. They were returning after buying a new scooter  when out of nowhere a cow hit their speeding scooter.

The fire brigade rescued the duo. The locals rushed them to Balikuda medical where Guru was declared dead by the doctors. 

The daughter is currently undergoing treatment. Police seized the vehicle and is investigating the matter.
