Bhubaneswar, Mar 24: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has said that new rules will be introduced by the government to ensure compensation for victims of chit fund scams.
Responding to a question in writing during the Question Hour at the ongoing Odisha Legislative Assembly session, CM majhi said that the state government is preparing updated guidelines to simplify the process of refunding money to chit fund victims.
In the written response in the Assembly, the Chief Minister stated that so far, RS 45.69 crore has been refunded to 96,474 beneficiaries. To ensure that the remaining depositors receive their refunds promptly, the government is taking swift measures.
In addition, the commission has recommended refunds for 4,72,651 individuals based on seven interim reports. This initiative aims to bring relief to those affected by chit fund scams.
