Koraput, Apr 19: Koraput district has earned national recognition, securing a nomination for the Prime Minister's Award for Excellence in governance. The honor comes after a thorough assessment of the district’s successful implementation of 11 key central government schemes, covering sectors such as health, housing, rural development, and energy.

Officials from the central government conducted an in-depth evaluation, reviewing the execution of programs including Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, Saksham Anganwadi & Nutrition, PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, PM Vishwakarma, Kisan Card, Mission Vaccination, PM Jan Arogya Yojana, Har Ghar Jal (Jal Jeevan Mission), and Pradhan Mantri Urban and Rural Housing Schemes. The officials also engaged with beneficiaries to gauge the effectiveness of these initiatives.

Following a detailed review, Koraput emerged as a top-performing district, earning its place among India's top five districts. In response, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi extended his congratulations to Koraput Collector V. Kirti Vasan via social media, applauding the district's exceptional achievements.

Expressing gratitude, Collector Vasan acknowledged the support received from both the central and state governments, emphasizing Koraput's commitment to driving impactful development programs.

With this prestigious recognition, Koraput reinforces its position as a leader in effective governance and grassroots implementation of welfare schemes.
