Bhubaneswar, Aug 20: Prithviraj Harichandan, Minister of Law, Works & Excise, has reacted strongly after more than 20 people were hospitalised in Ganjam for consuming liquor.
"Strict action will be taken against those who are involved in illegal liquor business in the state," said Harichandan reacting to a question over the Ganjam liquor case.
"New liquor police will be introduced soon. Initiatives are being taken to stop the illegal liquor business and its production from root," assured the Excise Minister.
He also said that steps are being taken to stop the illegal liquor business in Ganjam.

✨Earlier, more than 20 people were reportedly hospitalised for consuming country liquor. Four out of those people were in critical condition.
All of them are undergoing treatment at MKCG Medical in Berhampur. It is being doubted that all the people have consumed country liquor, which affected their health.
Speaking about the people's health conditions, Harichandan said most of them are doing fine. "Those who were unwell after consumption are doing fine. There is also improvement in health condition of the person, who was critical," the Excise Minister signed off.
