Bhubaneswar, Feb 27: As many as six officials, of the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) University in Bhubaneswar, appeared before the high-level committee of the Odisha government probing the alleged death of Nepali student and the subsequent unrest on the campus.
According to reports, senior hostel superintendent Sanhita Mishra, senior administrative officer Sidharth Ray, IC chief Ipsita Satapathy, chief proctor PK Pattnaik, assistant director Smarika Pati and another official appeared before the committee.
Earlier, on February 21, KIIT founder Achyuta Samanta and seven other officials had appeared before the panel.
It may be noted that, on February 16,Prakriti Lamsal, a B. Tech third-year student of KIIT University was found dead in her hostel room allegedly due to harassment and blackmailing by her ex-boyfriend. Subsequently, protests broke out on the KIIT campus.
