Cuttack, Feb 14: A man allegedly killed a woman, his neighbour, by slitting her throat with a paniki (traditional vegetable cutter) at Potapokhari of Gandhipalli locality in Odisha’s Cuttack city on Friday, over alleged past enmity.
The accused has been identified as Santosh Kumar Sinha while the deceased has been identified as Priyatama Dalai.
According to sources, accused Santosh had a long-standing dispute with his neighbour over a fence between their houses.
Today, a heated argument erupted between Santosh and Priyatama over the land dispute. The argument turned ugly when the accused in a fit of rage attacked the woman with a paniki and fled from the spot.

✨The woman was rescued in a critical condition and rushed to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, where doctors declared her “dead”.
The woman was reportedly alone at home when the incident took place.
After getting the information, local Police reached the spot and started an investigation into the matter.

Police formed a team to trace and apprehend the accused, a senior Police
officer said.
