Bhubaneswar, Apr 17: The former Chief Minister of Odisha, Naveen Patnaik, has filed his nomination papers for the post of Biju Janata Dal (BJD) President.

With no other nominations submitted, Patnaik is expected to be officially declared as the President of the party on April 19. His leadership has been pivotal in steering the party to success and maintaining its stronghold in Odisha politics for more than two decades.

However, his tenure as the Odisha Chief Minister came to an end when BJP won the 2024 elections forming the government for the first time in the State.
