Nabarangpur: AAO, BTM Caught Taking Bribe Of Rs 5,000

Nabarangpur, Feb 23: Vigilance officers on Sunday caught Nilakantha Parida, Assistant Agriculture Officer (AAO), and Surendrasingh Bundela, Block Technology Manager(BTM), both of Agriculture Office, Umerkote in Nabarangpur district, while demanding and taking bribe Rs.5,000 from a beneficiary of Jalanidhi scheme.
The two officials were taking the bribe money to credit the subsidy amount in the beneficiary's favour towards digging a borewell in his land. The entire tainted bribe money has been recovered and seized from their possession.
Following the trap, Vigilance teams also conducted simultaneous searches at three locations linked to Parida, AAO, and two locations linked to Bundela, BTM from DA angle.

✨In this connection, Koraput Vigilance has registered a case. The investigation is in progress against both the accused persons, according to an official statement.
