Bhubaneswar, Mar 17: In a significant development, Meenati Das, wife of late Naba Das, has written a letter to Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi seeking an appointment.

According to reports, Meenati Das had written the letter March 11, requesting to meet CM Majhi to submit a written application regarding a CBI investigation into her husband’s murder case.

Naba Das' son, Bishal Das, confirmed the application and mentioned that both email and postal letters were sent to request an appointment for the meeting.

The move from Naba Das’ family came after Odisha Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan had recently said that the family should submit a written request if they want a CBI investigation into the case.

Naba Das Murder Case

Notably, Naba Das was allegedly shot by Gopal Das, a former ASI of police, in Brajrajnagar of Jharsuguda district January 29, 2023.

He was shifted to a private hospital in Bhubaneswar, where he was declared dead, after primary treatment in a nearby hospital in Jharsuguda.

The accused was arrested the next day while the State government had directed the Odisha Crime Branch to probe the matter.
