Brahmapur, April 25: The Crime Branch of Odisha Police on Friday questioned family members of the accused, former police ASI Gopal Das, in connection with the murder of former Health minister Naba Kishore Das, which took place on January 29, 2023.

Recently, the State Crime Branch has reopened the investigation into the sensational murder case of former minister Naba Das, following a request from Minati Das, wife of the late minister.

Following an initial inquiry in Jharsuguda, the Crime Branch team has now shifted its focus to Brahmapur, where they are conducting further interrogations.

The investigation has taken a new turn as the team questions family members of the accused Gopal Das. Sources reveal that Gopal’s brother, son, and nephew are being interrogated and their statements will be recorded.

However, investigators are now revisiting the case to uncover potential conspiracies and hidden motives behind the murder.

In the past two days, five individuals have been questioned, including Gopal’s brother Satya Narayan, who reportedly owns a hotel in Jharsuguda but shut it down and left the area before the incident. Gopal’s nephew Pradeep Das and son Manoj Das have also been interrogated as part of the ongoing investigation.

The Crime Branch is leaving no stone unturned in its efforts to unravel the mystery surrounding the murder, ensuring that all angles are thoroughly examined.
