Mayurbhanj, Apr 13: Mystery surrounds the death of a second-grade student of SSD ashram school under Udala police jurisdiction, who was found hanging from a bamboo pole Sunday afternoon.

According to reports, the lifeless body of the victim was discovered by hostel mates during lunchtime.

Reportedly, the girl was found hanging in a room adjacent to the student dormitory.

Acting swiftly, the ashram authorities rescued the girl to hospital where she was declared dead by doctors.

Soon after the incident, the matter was informed to the local police.

The police have initiated an investigation into the matter, as the circumstances surrounding the death appear suspicious.

The low height of the bamboo pole and the position of the body have led to doubts about whether this was a suicide or something more sinister.
