Bhubaneswar, Mar 30: A second-year postgraduate student of Utkal University in Bhubaneswar was found dead under mysterious circumstances Sunday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Tapas Ranjan Nayak, a second-year postgraduate student in the Philosophy Department.  He was residing in the Madhusudhan Hostel of the university.

According to reports, the body of Tapas was found outside of the hostel.

On being informed, police reached the spot and recovered the body, which was later sent to the Capital Hospital for post-mortem.

While the exact reason behind the death of the student remains unclear, initial reports suggest that the victim might have committed suicide after jumping off from the hostel roof.

Police have registered a case and initiated a probe into the incident.
