Cuttack, Feb 18: In a tragic mishap, two persons were killed as a motorbike on which they were travelling hit a roadside tree at Rusipada under Kanpur police station limits in Cuttack district this evening. 

The deceased youths have been identified as Muna Sahoo and Rakesh Panda of Beliapala village under the Badamba area. 

According to the information, the accident occurred at 7.15 pm. The motorcycle was running at a very high speed at the time of the accident. 

On being informed, police reached the spot and rushed the two to a nearby hospital where doctors declared them dead. 

A pall of gloom descended in the area following the incident.
