Bhubaneswar, Mar 17: The mortal remains of former Union Minister Dr Debendra Pradhan arrived at the Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar on Monday evening.
Dr.Pradhan, the father of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, was accorded the guard of honor on arrival. Dr Pradhan's son Dharmendra Pradhan, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja and DGP YB Khurania were present at the airport.
Leaders cutting across party lines paid last respect to Dr. Pradhan, who passed away at the age of 83 at Delhi. BJD leader Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak and Congress Leader Suresh Routray were present. BJP MPs and leaders also paid tributes to Dr Pradhan.
According to the information, the body will be taken in a grand procession to the BJP's State head office first and then to his residence at Chandraskharpur.

✨Dr Pradhan was elected from the Deogarh Parliamentary Seat twice. He served the nation as a Union Minister in two stints from 1998 to 2001.
President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Pradhan, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President JP Nadda condoled his passing away. Taking to their X handles, the leaders remembered Dr Pradhan's contributions to the nation building and strengthening the BJP at the national level.
The mortal remains will be consigned to flames at Swargadwara in Puri tomorrow, according to family sources.
