Sundargarh, Nov 21: The boarders of Irabati Girls' hostel have sat on a dharna with buckets in front of the main gate of Sundargarh College in protest against irregularity in water supply to their hostel. Sundargarh MLA Kusum Tete also joined the 300 protesting students this morning.

The Principal alongwith the Head of the Department tried to discuss the matter with the agitated students who are hell bent on continuing the protest till a permanent solution is reached. 

While the hostel accomodates 320 students, only one tubewell fitted with a motor is available for them. The students have complained that most of the time the tubewell remains defunct. 

The students have informed the college administration and the hostel in-charge about the water problem. They have met the District Magistrate and complained him about their plight.

Despite complaints, the public health department has not taken any steps. According to latest information, the students were sitting on dharna by the time of filing of this article.
