Cuttack, Mar 16: A day after a youth went missing at Bhattarika while taking bath, police on Sunday fished out his body near Padmabati ghat in Nayagarh district.

The deceased has been identified as Pramod Rout, son of Musa Rout of Mangarajpur under Badamba police limit in Cuttack district.

According to reports, Pramod was taking bath on the banks of Mahanadi river near Bhattarika when he was swept away by strong current in the water. However, his body was found near Padmabati ghat in Nayagarh district.

On being informed, police along with the fire personnel team reached the spot and retrieved the body.

The body was seized and sent to Badamba hospital for post-mortem.
