Shubham’s father, Sushant Swain, had lodged a missing complaint at Chhatrapur Police Station a day after his disappearance, alleging negligence by college authorities and accusing them of failing to ensure proper security.
According to preliminary police findings, the college lacks basic security infrastructure — there are no CCTV cameras, fencing, or security guards. The area surrounding the campus is dense with forest, raising concerns about how such a large educational institution operates without critical safety measures.
Post-mortem examination has been completed, and the body was handed over to the family. Meanwhile, the police have registered a case and launched a deeper investigation to determine if foul play was involved.
