Nayagarh, May 20: A shocking incident has occurred on the Daspalla-Bhanjanagar state highway, where a group of eight miscreants, riding a van, reportedly attacked a pedestrian with blades and robbed him of his money.

The victim, identified as Jatia Behera from Khandapada village, was suddenly ambushed by the attackers, who blocked his path, assaulted him with sharp weapons, and then set his motorcycle on fire in the middle of the road. The violent act left Behera severely injured.

Local residents quickly came to his aid and admitted him to the Daspalla Community Health Center for treatment.

Daspalla police have launched an investigation into the incident. Efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the culprits.
