Konark, Jan 20: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday said that the mineral-rich Odisha is poised to play a pivotal role for India's industrial and economic growth to make the country a developed nation by 2047.

CM Majhi made the remark after inaugurating the 3rd National Mining Ministers' Conference at Konark in Odisha's Puri district, in the presence of Union Minister G Krishna Reddy, Bihar's deputy CM Vijay Kumar Sinha, Telangana deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu, and other dignitaries and industry leaders.

Speaking on the occasion, CM Majhi said, “Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the mission of 'Viksit Bharat' (Developed India) will be realized by 2047 by empowering key industries, including mining, through innovative policies and initiatives. Odisha, as a leader in mineral wealth, is poised to play a pivotal role in this transformation, particularly as part of the 'Purvodaya Mission,' which aims to unlock the economic potential of India and build a more prosperous and self-reliant nation.”

“The conference serves as a vital platform for knowledge-sharing, collaboration, and policy deliberation to ensure sustainable and environmentally responsible mining practices,” he added.

Later, CM Majhi and Union Minister Reddy jointly launched the Mining Tenement System (MTS) at the conference. This cutting-edge digital platform will streamline processes, enhance transparency, and boost efficiency in the allocation and management of mineral resources.
