Bhubaneswar, Sep 22: A wave of unrest gripped Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar following the death of a 14-month-old child, Ayush Sahoo, allegedly due to a wrongly administered injection.
The grieving family, supported by members of the local auto association, staged a protest outside the hospital premises, demanding accountability and justice.
According to the family, Ayush was brought to the hospital with symptoms of illness. They allege that negligence by the attending doctor and nurse led to the administration of an incorrect injection, which resulted in the child’s death.

✨The hospital staff, however, denied the allegations, stating that they followed proper medical procedures and did everything possible to save the child.
The situation escalated as hundreds of locals gathered at the hospital, leading to chaos and disruption. Police were deployed to manage the crowd and restore order.
Health Director Amarendra Mohanty confirmed that a
preliminary investigation has been initiated. A special committee will be formed
to probe the incident thoroughly. He added that the post-mortem report will
provide clarity on the exact cause of death.
