Mayurbhanj, May 6: In a terrific incident, a miscreant shot at a foreign liquor owner and looted away lakhs of rupees from him at Gorumahisani under Rairangpur tehsil in Mayurbhanj district today.

The liquor shop owner, Sabyasachi Mohanty alias Bikina, was injured in the incident.

According to the information, a masked goon came and fired at Mohanty while he was sitting at the cash counter. The miscreant fired three bullets, of which one pierced Mohanty's right thigh. Mohanty was rushed to the Gorumahisani Hospital first, and after a primary treatment, he was shifted to the Rairangpur Common Health Centre.

The incident has disturbed the locals. Mohanty is a native of Kuleisila village under the Gorumahisani police station limits.
