Bhubaneswar, Jun 20: To mark the first anniversary of the BJP-led state government, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Odisha today. Ahead of the visit, the capital city has been placed under an extensive security blanket.
Authorities have deployed 133 platoons of police force along with over 500 senior officers, including DCPs, ACPs, and inspectors, to ensure a smooth and secure event.
The Prime Minister is scheduled to arrive at Biju Patnaik International Airport at 3:40 PM, followed by a roadshow leading to Janata Maidan, where he will address a massive public gathering.
The route from the airport to the venue has been fortified with layered security, and traffic restrictions have been imposed across key intersections to manage the expected crowd of over two lakh people.
The Special Protection Group (SPG) has reviewed all arrangements, and Commissionerate Police has issued detailed traffic advisories. Measures include designated parking zones, restricted vehicle movement, and crowd control protocols.
The administration has also prepared for weather-related disruptions, with dewatering systems on standby at the venue.
The Prime Minister is expected to unveil development projects worth ₹19,000 crore and launch Odisha’s Vision Document 2036, outlining the state’s long-term growth roadmap.
