Bargarh, May 29: The Odisha government has taken strict disciplinary action against teachers involved in malpractice during the CBSE Board Examination 2025.
Following reports of widespread cheating at two examination centres in Padmapur subdivision of Bargarh district, the Department of School & Mass Education has suspended five teachers, including two principals, and issued show-cause notices to 33 teachers.
The suspended individuals include: Jayanta Kumar Sahu (Principal, Paikamal Frezarpur OAV), Rudra Narayan Bhoi (Principal, Padmapur Bandupali OAV), Limesh Das, (TGT SST Teacher, Bandupali OAV), Sujananta Gartia (Computer Teacher, Bandupali OAV) and Rabindra Hota (TGT English Teacher, Bandupali OAV).
Government’s Zero-Tolerance Policy
The Odisha government has reiterated its zero-tolerance policy against unfair practices in examinations. The suspended teachers have been directed to remain at their district education headquarters until further notice, and they are prohibited from leaving without prior approval.
Mass Failure Raises Concerns
The malpractice issue surfaced after the CBSE announced the results for Class 10 and 12 students. Out of 1,185 students, only 300 passed, while 885 failed, raising serious concerns about academic integrity and preparedness.
Authorities are now investigating the extent of the malpractice and considering further actions to prevent such incidents in the future.
