Bhubaneswar, Jun 7: The Kalinga Black Tigers, Odisha’s rugby team, is all set to make a grand debut in this year’s Rugby Premier League, scheduled to commence on June 15 in Mumbai.

With rigorous preparations underway, the team is determined to leave a mark in the tournament.

In a special event held at the Kalinga Stadium, the team’s mascot and jersey were officially launched, adding to the excitement. The squad consists of eight international players and five Indian players, bringing together a mix of experience and fresh talent.

Representing Odisha, Ashish Sabar stands as the only Odia player, while another Odia professional has joined the team as an assistant coach. With training sessions scheduled in both Mumbai and Kalinga Stadium, the team remains optimistic about delivering a strong performance in the league.

The Rugby Premier League will serve as a crucial platform for Odisha’s emerging rugby talents, with fans eagerly anticipating Kalinga Black Tigers' journey in the competition.
