Bhubaneswar, Aug 2: The Customs Department at Biju Patnaik International Airport on Saturday seized marijuana worth over Rs 8 crore and arrested one person in connection with the case.

The contraband was discovered during routine baggage checks.

According to reports, the passenger was intercepted after he arrived from Bangkok this afternoon. During the examination of his bag, Customs personnel recovered hydroponic weed (marijuana) with an illicit market value of around Rs 2 crore.

The accused person, reportedly from Gujarat, have been detained and are currently being interrogated to trace the source and destination of the consignment.
