Bhubaneswar, Mar 2: Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida Sunday said that the Odisha Govt has set March 31 as last date to apply for Subhadra Yojana.
The eligible beneficiaries, who apply by the deadline day, will receive three installments at-a-time amounting to Rs 15,000 – Rs 5,000 per installment. The amount will be credited to their accounts on the auspicious occassion Rakhi Purnima this year, clarified Dy CM Parida.
Notably, the second installment of money under the Odisha Govt’s flagship scheme will be released on March 8 covering around 1 crore women beneficiaries. Parida said that the amount will be disbursed during a special event, which is scheduled to take place in Berhampur.
“Our prediction turned out to be true as the Subhadra Yojana has reached the magic number, surpassing 1 crore beneficiaries, and in just eight months before International Women's Day,” stated the Deputy CM.
She credited the success to everyone who is involved in the entire process of Subhadra Yojana. “The credit goes to all who are working on grassroots -- the District Collectors, Subhadra Yojana team, Women and Child Development Department staff, as well as the Anganwadi workers and Bank Mitra personnel," Parida said.
According to Parida, a total of 98 lakh women have been benefitted under the scheme in last four phases of first installment.
Notable Information
Subhadra scheme was launched September 17, 2024, after the formation of BJP government in Odisha. The flagship scheme offers a total of Rs 50,000 – Rs 5,000 each in 10 installments across five years – to all the eligible women in the state.
Around 25 lakh women received the money in the first phase, while the amount was credited to the bank accounts of 35 lakh beneficiaries in the second phase October 9. The third phase money was disbursed to 20 lakh women November 24 and more than 18 lakh women beneficiaries received Rs 5,000 amount February 8 this year.
