Cuttack, Sep 15: The Special POCSO Court in Cuttack on Monday sentenced one Dillip Kumar Samantaray to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment for repeatedly raping a minor girl.

According to reports, the incident occurred under the jurisdiction of Athagarh police station in November 2024, where the accused was found to have sexually assaulted the minor multiple times.

After this, the case was investigated thoroughly by the police, who collected all necessary evidence and gathered witnesses. Later, a charge sheet was filed against the accused in the court.

On the basis of the charge sheet, the court today sentenced the convict and levied a fine of Rs 50,000, adding that if the convict fails to pay the fine, the accused have to undergo additional years in jail.

The court also announced Rs 7 lakh compensation to the minor survivor.
