Man Kills Wife Over Domestic Dispute, Surrenders Before Police

Puri, Mar 29: A man allegedly killed his wife over a family dispute in Odisha's Puri district and later surrendered himself before Talabania police.
The deceased, identified as Saudamini, worked as a staff nurse in a private medical facility, while her husband, Badal, was employed as a security officer at Jagannath Medical College. The couple had been married for four years and shared a one-year-old son.
According to reports, the couple used to fight frequently with each other. On Friday, Saudamini picked up an argument with Badal over a minor domestic issue when the latter returned home from work. Soon the argument between the couple turned into a violent quarrel.
In a fit of rage, Badal allegedly strangled Saudamini using a scarf. Following the act, he surrendered himself to the Talabania police, admitting to the crime.
Police have reportedly seized the body for post-mortem and arrested the accused husband following his confession to the crime.
A case has been registered and further investigation into the incident is underway.
