Man Kills Wife After Heated Argument In Odisha's Gajapati

Gajapati, Aug 11: A man allegedly killed his wife with a machete after an argument in Kunkuni village under Mohana police limits of Gajapati district.
The deceased woman has been identified as Resama Bagsingha, daughter of Radhakanta Nayak of Kunkuni village. She had married Anant Bagsingha of Pakelma village under Brahmanigaon police station in Kandhamal district.
According to reports, Reshma had returned to her parental home about four months ago due to frequent quarrels between the husband-wife duo.
Last night, the couple along with their children had visited Meena Bazaar in Mohana. They returned to home around 10 PM. While Resama was fetching water, her husband Anant allegedly attacked her with a machete, striking her on the back and face. Following this, Resama sustained severe injuries.
Soon after the incident, Resama's family members rushed her to Mohana Health Centre. However, she was declared dead upon arrival.
Later, on being informed, Mohana police detained Anant and is currently investigating the case.
