Malkangiri, Jul 19: A man went missing after a country boat carrying five passengers capsized in the Balimela reservoir near Chitrakonda in Malkangiri district.

According to reports, the incident occurred when a country boat ferrying five individuals, en route from Nakamamudi to Talapadar, overturned mid-river.

While four passengers managed to swim to safety, one individual, identified as Ramachandra Pangi, went missing in the deep waters.

On being informed, local authorities and rescue teams launched a search operation early Saturday morning.

As of the latest update, efforts to locate the missing person are still underway. More details are awaited.
