Kandhamal, Mar 11: A man was sentenced to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment for raping a minor girl in Kandhamal's Daringbadi. The incident occurred in the year 2016.
Phulbani Special POCSO Court Judge Rajesh Das pronounced the judgement against the accused Bachan Digal and imposed a fine of Rs 11,000 on the convict.
Failure to pay the fine would result in an additional five months of imprisonment.
The court also directed a compensation of Rs 7 lakh to the survivor under the victim compensation scheme.
