Bhadrak, Oct 20: A man was found hanging from a mango tree
in a village in Odisha’s Bhadrak district, police said on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Balaram Das, a resident
of Balipada village under Dhamnaghar police limits in the district.
As per reports, locals noticed Balaram’s body hanging with a
rope around his neck from a mango tree near the Balipada hospitlal. They
immediately alerted the police in this regard.
Upon arrival, Dhamnagar police seized the body and sent it
to a hospital for autopsy.

At present, the reason behind Balaram’s death remains
unclear. While some speculate it could be a case of suicide, others
suspect foul play. Police officials have stated that they are investigating the
incident from all possible angles.
“We are examining whether this is a suicide or a murder. The
truth will be known after the postmortem report,” said a senior officer
involved in the investigation.
