Dhenkanal, Jun 14: A worker lost his life while three others have been rescued after they fell into Brahmani River during the repair work of a bridge.

The deceased has been identified as Dilip Kumar from Bihar's Motihari district.

According to reports, some workers were carrying the repair work of a bridge over Brahmani River near Kamagara in Dhenkanal district. During this, a slab of the bridge reportedly collapsed and as a result the workers fell into the river.

Following the incident, the Dhenkanal Fire Services swiftly responded, and rescued the workers from the water. However, after an extensive search, Dilip's lifeless body was recovered.

Taking note of the incident, police have registered a case and initiated a probe into the incident.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident, as the circumstances leading to the fall remain unclear.

Meanwhile, Tumusinga Police have launched a detailed inquiry into the incident.
