Malkangiri: Water Resources Project Director Under Odisha Vigilance Net In DA Case

Malkangiri, Feb 5: Santanu Kumar Mohapatra, Director, Water Resources Project, fell in the net of Odisha Vigilance for allegedly possessing assets disproportionate to his known source of income.
As per the report, the Odisha Vigilance teams have unearthed disproportionate assets worth more than Rs 1 crore during the searches.
The raids are conducted at seven different places, including Mohapatra’s residences in Jeypore and Bhubaneswar. Simultaneous raids are underway in Nabarangpur, Koraput and Malkangiri.
The report also states that a huge amount of cash, reportedly Rs 1.5 crore,has also been unearthed from his Jeypore residence.
Raids are underway at the three-storey house in Jeypore, the ancestral house in Cuttack, his relative's house in Bhimatangi in Bhubaneswar and his office in Malkangiri.
In addition, searches are being conducted in Malkangiri at the residences of Assistant Agriculture Engineer Mohan Mandal, Jala Chaya Dept data entry operator Biswajit Mandal, and Amiyakanta Sahu, a contractual staff of Malkangiri Jala Chaya Dept.
Two Additional SPs, four DSPs, 10 Inspectors, and six ASIs are involved in the raids. More details are awaited in this connection.
